Run Android Apps on your Non Android Phone, Alien Dalvik VM

Like running windows on Linux or Linux on windows isn't it great that if you could somehow use your favorite android app on the non android supported smart phone?. Ya... thanks to the Alien Dalvik virtual machine developed by the Myriad, a Zurich based mobile app developing company may have finally gonna stand up to the challenge.

Yep N900 can run android apps!... (watch the video below)

According to the news sources, in the upcoming mobile world congress event they will be demonstrating this live in front of a crowd (yikes ;-) ). Now it is pretty safe actually to run software through a virtual machine since a VM runs under the OS with the boundaries set, so even if the applications in VM crash, according to experts it has no effect on the running actual mobile OS.

Now what about the speed or the overall performance. Well again a well designed VM can run an application as good as under the environment it was supposed to run in the first place. So not only on theory, Myriad has even released a video showing that the actual performance and stability is as good as under the Android OS (they demonstrated the "MeeGo" app running under Nokia N900).

So it is pretty interesting what this can bring. I mean think about it. You don't have to throw away money for app after app when you can get the same thing done via free android (not all of them are free anyway) apps which you can choose by thousands in the market place without having to worry about performance losses or batter "eating demon effects" ;-) either.

Have a look at the video....

We'll see ... Get more from this myraid VM for android official news page.
